On being a polymath

Hi! I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. After all, you can see here some of my creations and the things that inspire and make me happy. Why not take the next step and tell you a bit more about myself?
Every time I describe myself as a musician, artist, writer, and amateur dancer, I’m telling you I am a polymath.
“The Oxford English Dictionary defines polymath as a person of wide knowledge or learning. Creative Polymathy thrives in people who over time, develop, and successfully apply a breadth of knowledge from a variety of domains to produce renowned creative work.”*
For the longest time, I thought something was wrong with me. Why couldn’t I focus and specialize on one thing? Impossible! If you talk to me about the most boring subject, but do it with passion and optimism, I’m in! I don’t like routine and for the most part, every day is like a new canvas waiting to be filled with new dreams, experiences, and ideas—more than can fit in 24 hours. I’m not interested in perfection, for me or for others but I do prefer cultivating our hearts. I tend to spread myself thin, but I’m learning to care for myself and enjoy the process.
The biggest win has been to know and accept myself for who I am. A polymath. Not a genius—just me.
What about you? There is only one you—let it count!
